Quick review:
buttons on the motherboard sound, great value for money, quick and easy installation, power and reset on the board, tons of overclocking options, the wonderful ability. The perfect motherboard to use the computer every day and even some games. It saves money to have onboard graphics, and is capable of playing high definition videos and basically do everything you expect from a powerful team budget.
detailed review
I’m not a player. I basically use my PC for multimedia, some programming, and some image editing. I decided to build a new team since the resources increasingly intensive browsers really began to affect the performance of my old computer. What I wanted was basically a computer that would let me surf, watch videos in HD, and not make me wait a few minutes to launch applications.
Reading comments online, you may recognize a tendency for people to exaggerate the importance of certain products. Do not need four slots for four $ 100 + graphics cards if you’re not a gambler – just going to the strain on your resources and will need a comprehensive plan for the cooling system case. Do not pay more for something that you will not even be 2 to 3 years from now. Knowing that I have no need for all the slots, I decided to go for this motherboard. Which basically has all the features, it also has SB750, that will unlock hidden cores (Phenom X3 II 720, Phenom X2 II, 550) should not be a problem.
Installation was a breeze. There are blue LEDs that tell you what went wrong in your installation if the motherboard refuses to post – I. e. board refuses to start. The only drawback is that there is no real explanation of what each of the LED’s is in the manual or online. The other good thing about this motherboard is the power and reset buttons. As someone who does not assemble PCs for a living I have to freak if my mother does not start. Also, connect all the cables from the bezel if the mother is not always a fool proof procedure – to be able to eliminate the possibility that the power button connections of the case to the motherboard is defective. So, definitely helps troubleshooting. The LED same as I mentioned also look great if your case has a see-through side panel.
The quick installation guide is really great. It saves time going through the manual, and in my case, it really helped me know that all cables from the computer case is supposed to go.
Installation CPU – Phenom X4 II 955 – was very easy, my Corsair DDR3 1600 RAM worked immediately – 1066MHz, Corsair says it must be overclocked to 1600, but I do not see a difference and I do not want a large amount of heat circulating there. DIMM slots – the slots where you place the RAM – not too close to the processor. Not interfere with the installation of shares sink on the CPU and fan.
Also support the old 140W Phenom X4 II 965 currently available on Amazon – a version of 125W is available elsewhere.
integrated graphics – ATI Radeon HD3300 – has played all HD video that I threw at it, including 1080p. It does not take much of the memory of my system. I have 4 GB of memory, and I 3. 6 available for my operating system. It’s great, because my memory usage rarely appears 2GHz, even with heavy browsing – several YouTube videos, flash intensive websites, etc – and to open many applications. I also like the fact that this motherboard still has two slots for discrete graphics cards can be purchased in the future if my needs change. It has two slots, so the crossfire – using more than one ATI card at the same time – will not be a problem if it becomes a need for 3-4 years from now. < , br />
I also had no problem with sound. I mainly use Linux, and Arch installer recognized it immediately on board, and I had no problem with the Ethernet adapter. Everything basically works right out of the box.
The motherboard also features an IDE slot, meaning you can add two IDE drives of any old computer around if you want, this is great, especially for DVD drives that do not affect system performance in major ways. You can even use those old hard drives if you like.
This is what this motherboard has:
< br />
– has all the USB 2. 0 slots that you could want – 6, and has three places to connect the appropriate cables for more USB ports.
– ESATA – High-speed external hard drives.
– HDMI – for playback of Blu-ray in the new monitors, without converters.
– RAID – to organize hard drives in arrays (ideal for some people whose data will benefit from the redundancy).
– Gigabit Ethernet – high-speed connectivity for high speed network transfer between computers the same network if the hardware supports it.
– including 128 MB of memory for integrated graphics – more performance.
– 8 channel high definition audio.
– IDE – up two old PATA drives.
– Supports Trusted Computing — required by 7 Ultimate Windows BitLocker full disk encryption and is likely to be heavily marketed because it will give sellers more control over Media DRM (which is future proof because it will be able to get it when they start requiring it), you must buy a TPM (Trusted Platform Module, similar to a chip card that plugs into your computer) however. It’s a good thing that were not included by default as a lot of controversy around Trusted Computing.
I decided to give it a try MSI as I had some serious problems with Gigabyte and ASUS motherboards in the past. So far, this motherboard has complied wonderful and even exceeded my expectations. It worked right from the box, not dead on arrival – do not have to RMA came into wonderful home, and had all the things you expect a motherboard supplier to include. I only think you have to include what the blue LED lights are in the manual, and perhaps slightly redesign of its website.
Notes: < , br />
– Be sure to choose an AM3 CPU. I personally choose Phenom X4 II 955 because it has the best value for money at the moment and is very future proof. It can be overclocked to the speed of the second Phenom 965, but the 200Mhz make no difference now.
– This motherboard does not support DDR2, if you have some lying DDR2 memory modules around an old building and would like to use those, then get an AM2 + motherboard, will continue to support the new AM3 Phenom that are backwards compatible.
– This motherboard does not have USB 3. 0 – modern external USB devices we all use are USB 2. 0, which is likely to be placed on 6 months or so. I do not think it’s worth the wait, as the eSATA is larger. It is good to note that USB 3. 0 is a new technology, so when it becomes available will be very expensive and not free of errors for a while. It will be two or three years before USB 3. 0 floating around the boot devices. AMD and Intel do not support USB 3. 0 to 2011, but then AMD Bulldozer – a new AMD processor, more cores, more efficiency – will be available then and who knows what else. Even then, USB 3. 0 devices will be backward compatible, so it will still be able to use with this motherboard.
Conclusion:
It is a great motherboard has a great price, and has everything you need to build a very modern equipment. It is well documented and makes building your own computer easier than ever.

I paired this product with the 965 chip AMD Phenom X4 II, which is quad core and operates at 3. 4 Mhz. It is installed where a 300 Antec power supply with 550W, 8 GHz DDR3 and Windows 7 Professional.
Features:
– The board has lots and lots of I / O. ESATA, USB, FireWire 400, HDMI, VGA and DVI, LAN, optical port of a single sound, and six audio connectors.
– Domestic inputs are available for the other 3 USB ports, FireWire, optical audio , CD-in, Chassis Intrusion Switch, serial port, Floppy Drive, SATA and IDE connectors and products of high quality sound.
– The council has a “CMOS” switch, which will take you back to the factory settings, which could be useful if you get in trouble for overclocking.
– not a block of two DIP switches that allow the Board to set overclock by 10%, 15%, or 20 %. I found the BIOS setup to make it more convenient, since they do not have to open the case to change, so do not be a short test at 10% do not use it.
– There is a connector “Trusted Computing” card but that card is not provided.
– There is an additional 2 PCIe x1 slots.
– The Council of wine with IDE and SATA cables, a touch nice.
– NOTE: this card requires DDR3 memory. GET THE MEMORY OF LAW.
– The motherboard has a program available from the website which provides the memory of the BIOS to start at a certain time, and hibernate / shutdown Windows at a certain time . My past boards have this as a BIOS setting, but after using it I think is a better system. I control the settings without entering the BIOS, or even leaving Windows. It works very well.
– The board supports both “Gang” and “unganged” memory modes; unganged (where each processor is assigned a portion of memory) is standard.
– The board supports AMD cool n quiet “mode when the CPU changes the speed of the chip. My Phenom 965 runs in 600, 2400, or 3400 – each core can change separately, based on demand. This results in a running system is idling very cold (30 degrees C).
– Support is provided for the CPU to control the speed of the heat sink. I realize that the ‘No way cool quiet is very quiet, but when the cores to go full speed, the fan is noticeable. In other words, the variable speed CPU fan works well.
Disadvantages:
– Only 6 USB ports on the back. In fact they have fulfilled all
– I found the performance of the video card to be a bit less than they prefer. There was out on the ratings of Windows 7 around 5, as I recall. I installed a GeForce board GS250.
– There is only one PCI x16, if you install two video cards will become 2 X x8. No plan to use more than one card, so it made no difference to me.
– Embedded SATA connectors facing the front edge of the board, so you have to bend the cable to install. I believe that the connectors would be easier to use if you are facing upwards instead of sideways. But it is a huge problem.
– There’s a “Reset” button on the motherboard. This is NOT the pin that connects to your switch – is a button. I can think of where this could possibly be used in normal conditions, as it would have to turn off the computer to open the case.
– The council has a tendency to modify the boot menu to add hardware to your system. External drives I’ve exchanged several times and each time the BIOS boot order changed – a couple of times a unit that will not start. I have learned that after the installation of hard drives, enter the BIOS and check the boot order
installation
No real problems here, in the pamphlet is useful, although I had to check the pin out of the front panel connectors on several occasions.
Operation:
– The BIOS has plenty overclocking settings and other controls. I found them very easy to use. However, my standard setup is not overclocked.
– The BIOS scans for external USB devices boot at startup. This can cause some long-ventures if you have bootable backup units.
– I had no problems with the board while running Windows 7 Professional.
Despite restrictions above, I recommend this board as an average unit price. If you have a little more money, FX model has better graphics and 2 x PCIe x16 support for multi-video card. But for a core business unit, or team-based game, this is a good option.
****** UPDATE January 7, 2010 **** *******< br /> The only problem I had with the Board is that Windows 7 Professional, the default NumLock OFF. I’m not sure if this is a motherboard issue or a setting in Windows 7.

No problems for my AMD Black Edition CPU clock to its highest in the air. . . Jump to 400 Mhz. I would recommend to anyone, even if not a OC’er, has everything you need, including Crossfire x2.

This motherboard is awesome! Yes, has the characteristic of releasing the AM3 processor cores that is blocked (eg phenomenon x2) so that it can be a quad core. I ended up buying the Athlon x4, dont get me wrong it still is a quad, and still fast, but at the same price you could have gotten the phenomenon and opened it. It would have been equivalent to a four-$ 200.
Only negative I had to manually set the RAM speed of my 1600. Automobile 1600 marked my RAM to 1333. No Biggy in your BIOS under the Cell menu, I think the ratio was 1:4, but I forgot and am too lazy to restart and re-write this review

Mother very good and easy to install with AMD Phenom Quad II and Kingston Hyper X 1600 (OC) 8GB Memory Chips.
Functioning HD 5770 and ATI CrossFireX with two cards without any problem. The best price for this motherboard MSI and I’m satisfied and I recommend from this Board.
