For those who do not know that you can use your Windows restore disk to format the hard disk. You must have a full Windows DVD. Luckly I do not use Windows, use Linux. My problem is that the unit would give me a disk boot failure every time another that launched it. I’m sure it’s just a defective unit, what happens. My real complaint is that saving energy is equal to slower responses. Actually performed better on my old Seagate. So I’m going back to Seagate. Avoid “green”, the hard drive of the West, get black.
